Club Penguin Dating

  Since today is Valentine's Day I thought this would be the perfect time to post about dating on Club Penguin. This is a controversial topic so if I say something you don't agree with please don't take offense. I mean no disrespect.

  Personally, I think dating on CP is pointless and a complete waste of time. Most relationships are fake and shallow. It would take a long time to get to know the person behind the screen, plus no one takes relationships seriously anyway. I'll give you an example.

  Years ago, when I was a kid and had no idea what I was doing, I used to date on Club Penguin for fun. So one day I randomly started going out with this guy, and then a few days later he comes to my igloo and says hi so I say hi back and when I gave him the heart emote he walked away from me and said "I'm taken."

  I was so shocked he had the nerve to dump me without even telling me! Then he was like "we can be still be friends." I was thought to myself is this guy for real?! So I did what I always (used to) do in an awkward dating situation - lie and say we're friends and log off and log on on a different server and delete the penguin as a friend. That was so embarrassing.

  Have you noticed that CP has never had a real Valentine's Day party? The one they had in 2006 was more like a small event that never happened again. I'm so sad I didn't get to celebrate because it was before I joined Club Penguin. Maybe because it's a kids game and they don't want to encourage dating at a young age. These days everyone does it anyway so it shouldn't matter.

  I remember when they went as far as removing the heart emote because people were using it "inappropriately." People were so desperate they started saying the word "heart" as a replacement until CP brought it back a month later because of so many complaints. Those were the good old days when they actually listened to us.

  The game has changed over time. I remember one holiday I went on and all the boys were asking the girls to be their valentine. I probably got asked out three times that day by random people but then the next year everyone was acting like the holiday didn't exist! So weird....maybe today will be different.
